Why We Like The KEEN NXIS Evo Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot
The NXIS Evo Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot is KEEN's first fast-and-light hiker with the brand's original comfort fit. With less weight than a true hiking boot and more protection than a trail running shoe, it's a lightweight solution for fast-packers, day hikers, and urban hikers alike. The NXIS features a light and agile build inspired by trail running shoes, plus KEEN's iconic toe boxes, which protect our toes while giving them some wiggle room. The NXIS also features a waterproof membrane for soggy hikes and horseshoe-shaped lugs designed to grip muddy downhills, rocky uphills, and slippery sidewalks. It's a lightweight hiking boot that's made for those of us who like to hike fast without venturing too far into the wild.

The hooks are tripping hazard
It was such a pity that there’s a design problem: that the hooks at the inner ankles could easily get tangled with the shoelaces on the adjacent foot, which is a hazardous tripping disaster. I stumbled several times and my daughter did too, she even fell off three times in two days which would’ve been dangerous if we were hiking in difficult surroundings. I would have loved these boots even more if the hooks weren’t such a problem. The hooks could get broken after tripping a few times which happened to both my and my daughter’s pair.

Thank you for this boot, KEEN!
I love this hiking boot! I wore it right out of the box for a short hike on the AT and had zero foot pain! I have PTTD and heel pain as a result, as well as a slim and narrow foot and I’ve tried numerous boots that lacked support and never fit right. This is the first hiking boot I’ve found that’s worked for me. This boot is helping me get my life back and be out in nature more, doing what I love. Thank you for this boot, KEEN!

Great, but not waterproof
I bought these boots to walk the Camino Santiago in Spain, this fall. The second day of our six week trek The rain came down and I was sloshing in these boots. I can say is that everyone I spoke to on the trail said their boots were also supposed to be waterproof and they weren’t. I bought a waterproofing spray and used it m, which seemed to help, as we continued on the journey. The boots are very comfortable, have a wide foot bed for me. I never experienced any blisters or any other issues with these boots. They were very comfortable for me walking hundreds of miles.

The perfect boots
Love these boots which I have been testing on various trails for a week. Instantly comfortable, Great grip. Decent looking. A bit lighter weight than my other hiking boots but ankle support feels equally secure.

Tight tie box.
The sole feels great, however, they claim these are the original keen toe box and these things are narrow and tight. Really squeezes across the base of my toes and ball of my foot. I have never had Keens that fit like this, definitely not the roomy toe box they claim to be and not close to the original fit I’ve worn in the past.

Once wet they smell
I bought 2 pairs of keen nxis Yes they are comfortable but once they’ve gotten wet they smell horrible. Nothing I’ve tried to get the smell out has worked.

At first I felt like
At first I felt like the ankle support was pressing into me but after wearing a few times it adjusted to my foot. I wear a 6.5 typically and I ordered these in a 7, glad I did. Great fit!

Lightweight Summer boot
I live on a farm. I usually wear the wear the Targhee II (my favorite ) with upgraded insoles. I bought these hiking boots as a lighter waterproof shoe for the summer months around the farm. They are comfortable and truly waterproof. I have a narrow foot. I wear the same size in these as the Targhee II. However these boots are a tight fit to get on. It’s a true struggle to push my foot down through the ankle area. The toe is very roomy. They are very supportive around the ankle.
