Best water pump

This has been the best pump over the ten years of group backpacking with different pumps. It is reliable, easy, low maintenance and fast. Others have broken in the field, need pre soaking or slow down too fast. I feel confident taking this pump into the backcountry.

Great water purifier

This has been a great unit that has served 8+ people during any of the hunts.

The Katadyn Hiker Pro is my go-to water filter. It is easy to use and lightweight, as filters go. Get as much water out of it as possible and keep it in your sleeping bag in sub-freezing conditions. I love that the storage bag has a separate container for the output hose to keep it clean. Practice with it at home to get used to handling the intake hose and keeping the output hose out of contaminated water.

Great pump

Easy to use and clean. comes with an adapter to fit standard wide mouth Nalgene bottles. Must have as a main filtration, backup, or if you just can't wait for the gravity filters. Great crew gear.

Compact. Easy to operate and maintain. Was a perfect tool on my backcountry hunt. Organization pouch is a great touch.

It works

Easy to use but not as quick as smaller squeeze bag type filters. Good if you want to divvy up the weight of your gear between people or plan on staying somewhere and filtering decent amounts of water. Never gotten sick using it and it's simple to operate so it's hard to complain. A good option overall

Easy and fast

I bought this filter after a recent deployment to Hurricane Helene in Chimney Rock, NC and we ran out of water but one of the guys with us had this water filter and was able to fill multiple water bottles quickly!!

Really easy to use

Easy setup and convenient size. Used it on three day backcountry trip and worked well pulling water from a flowing creek with a small pool where the filter screen/weight could settle. Took me about 5-10 minutes to filter enough to fill a 2 gallon collapsible jug.

Extremely light and Effective Purifier

Impressed by how light weight this purifier is and the small size is also a huge plus for backpacking. I've had great experience with several Katadyn filters over the years and this is no exception. Operates smoothly and the design is excellent. Highly recommend for a light weight, effective and small purifier.

A great setup to add to your gear. Sometimes the water course is merky at the top and this filter has a float that allows you to dangle the inlet hose below the surface to avoid some of the debris at the top.
