Lightweight and small footprint for backcountry packing. Great for when a water source isn’t next to your camp!!

Great for base campsite cooking station.
It has been a good product. We have used it at camp while taking day hikes from our campsite. No issues, and I have used Katadyn filters for 30 years. They are worth the money. Ingesting a parasite could be a lifetime health issue and ruin a trip. Water is too heavy to carry.

Another great katadyn product
Worked flawlessly while hunting in Colorado. Its heavy when you fill it and have to walk back to camp but its worth it.

Platypus Replacement
Updated Review: Worked great for the first few trips. Was very optimistic about it. Suddenly on my next trip it reduced to hardly a trickle. Went through all the steps to clean out the filter and get it working again. Took it home to do a more thorough cleanse. Slightly improved, but as soon as I got out again on another backpacking trip it reduced to a tiny trickle. Tried again to clean it out according to instructions. Still the same result. The squeeze filter works great, unfortunately they need to go back to the drawing board and figure out this gravity system. I’m going back to Platypus for a gravity filter.

Worked Great
I used this for a week long camping trip with 3 people. We were able to fill the bag each day and hang it from a tree at the campsite. The water tasted amazing, with no plastic taste from the bag. It filtered extremely fast with good flow, allowing me to fill a 2 liter bag in around a minute. Care and cleaning are extremely easy. The bag is durable and does not seem easy to rip. I can't say enough good, one of my favorite purchases for our recent camping trip. Buy with confidence.

Unreliable. 100% clogged after less than 40L.
Used for two people on a ten day trip. Definitely filtered less than 4L per day. Worked great when it worked. Took it backpacking a couple months later and it wouldn't pass a single drop of water. Have read many other bad reports since then. Clean water in the backcountry is not something to gamble on. Absolutely would not recommend this product. There are other filters out there that won't fail you.
