Great until it wasn't...
I was happy with the capacity of the pack and the overall fit... until the chest strap snapped. I should've listened to the other reviews I had seen before purchasing. And while I know I could get it replaced, I don't trust that it wouldn't happen again so I feel like I've just lost money on this. Very disappointing seeing as though I grew up using Gregory gear. Will have to do more research and actually listen to the reviews it seems.

Love the clamshell front opening and bucket combo.
I bought this for my upcoming trip on the Camino de Santiago. I had tried using a 32 L pack but just found it too tightly stressed with absolutely no extra space. I looked for packs in the 36-45 L range and was almost going to get an Osprey Kyte 36 but spied the Gregory Jade 43 on a rack by itself. I love the fact that there is a clamshell opening on the front in addition to the traditional bucket. I also love the top section that has two separated storage compartments. Would have loved to have a rain cover as part of the original purchase which is standard in Osprey packs. I've been training with it and like the feel of the pack. So far, the only annoying aspect is the sound of the moveable strap section which has a funny sound as the pack moves with your movement. Guess it will just become routine but I wish that fabric would be replaced with something less tactile and noisy.

No neck pain!
I was fitted with this pack for an upcoming backpacking trip to the Grand Canyon. I love it! It distributes the weight to eliminate any strain in my problematic neck.

Chest strap broke on the first day
The backpack is comfortable to wear, but unfortunately, the chest strap broke on the first day of the trip. Disappointed with the durability.

Love it!
Love it! I can hike for hours with weight and not feel it in my lower back or shoulders.

Excellent pack
I bought this last year for an overnight hike. It was comfortable throughout the climb and held everything I needed for the overnight. I’ve since taken it on overnight flights as a carryon. I can’t wait to use it on my next overnight hike in the spring.

not up to the older backpacks
The first time I wore this, the chest strap clamp broke. So far, I don't find it particularly intuitive. Confusing to find & use the straps that tighten the top part so that it doesn't hang out from my upper back. There were many straps hanging, & it took a while to figure out which is for what. The chest strap probably broke because I was using it thinking it was for tightening the upper back. At any rate, I pulled the upper back straps as far as they would go, and the top still hung away from the back. Around 14 years ago, I had a Gregory backpack that was awesome. It felt like it was part of you. This one is a bit lumpy, and didn't ride along that smoothly..

Great All Around Backpack
Travelled through Europe with this backpack, it withstood multiple flights, and was very comfortable while wearing. The rain cover worked perfectly. Lots of room and extra pockets. Great backpack! Fits perfect for women around your waist as well!
