Why We Like The Garmin inReach Mini 2
The inReach Mini 2 gives us the same compact communication means as its predecessor but now with loads more battery life and features. Rather than lasting hours, it lasts days, letting us use it for much more than just check-ins on our multi-day missions. With the new ability to sync with Garmin Explorer, we can plan our course on the computer screen and save it to this palm-sized device. As we venture well beyond cell coverage, the new electronic compass gives us an accurate heading as we stand still, while the addition of Galileo gives us a quicker and more precise satellite lock, even with some tree cover. If we get turned around, the addition of TracBack routing helps us find our way.

Back country
Hunting in remote area. No cell service. Was able to text my wife and stay in communication with her. A litte slow but not bad considering where I was . Would recommend this to anyone needing to have contact with the real world.

User friendly, and USB-C
I was excited to buy the inreach version 2.0 because of USB-C charging. This device has been reliable for me on many adventures. I particularly like being able to receive updated weather reports.

A travel must have
Amazing battery life on this unit, works flawlessly. Really happy with the responsiveness and accuracy and convenience when I am out traveling. I travel in a lot of areas with no cell coverage and to know that I can get a message out as critical for family and business communication.

Peace of mind
I reside in an area with minimal cell coverage outside of towns and highways. The family's peace of mind while I'm out is worth every penny. Love it

rugged device
the messenger app worked well and I added my family during our 5 days in Wyoming’s Bighorn mountains. The explorer app was inconsistent and my Alltrails with my phone’s GPS worked better . It was my first use of the device and I am sure I have lots to learn but my two savy adult children on the trip could not solve the problem

Kept me in touch with my family while in the backc
I'm overall very happy with my Garmin inreach mini 2. There was a bit of a learning curve to send and reply to messages and I still have a lot to learn and figure out about this satellite communicator but I was able to check in and let family know I was ok on a 7 day backpacking trip. The nights I was in deep forest I wasn't able to get a message out but as soon as I got open sky it worked great. I wish there was a more detailed user manual.

Works like the original
Glad I have the new message app but was not thrilled with the planned obsolescence of original for the messaging app. Wish the power button still confirmed when turning off. Sending a preprogrammed message seems to take more clicks. It used to be easier to send a message one handed when riding. At least I was able to sell my old unit so it is not in a landfill.

Easy to use
Bought a month ago and so far (thankfully) I have not had to test the SOS feature. I ride a lot of back country trails on my bike solo and my Mini 2 gives my wife peace of mind to have regular positional updates and messaging ability if necessary.
