Vidda Pro Ventilated Trouser delivers rugged durability and airflow for demanding treks
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"These are my go-to pants for big days on the trail or working outdoors. The G-1000 fabric is tough as nails but still breathes well, and the zippered vents make a huge difference when I start heating up. I love all the pocket options too—they’re built for real use, not just looks."
Built for serious adventures and rugged terrain, the Fjallraven Vidda Pro Ventilated Trouser is a masterclass in durability and function. Made from Fjallraven’s legendary G-1000 fabric—a blend of recycled polyester and organic cotton—these pants balance long-lasting wear with wind and water resistance that adapts to any environment. Reinforced knees add abrasion protection, while stretch panels increase mobility for steep climbs and crouched work in camp.
Designed for the outdoorsperson who values both toughness and breathability, the Vidda Pro Ventilated Trouser features zippered outer leg vents that regulate temperature on the move. Multiple cargo, knife, and hand pockets keep tools and essentials organized, while an axe loop and adjustable cuffs round out the functional design. Whether hiking remote trails or tackling demanding projects in the field, these pants stand up to years of hard use and wild exploration.

Durable and Versatile
I bought these pants about four years back and have used them consistently from overnight river guiding in Alaska to chimney climbing classic trad chimney routes in Red rocks Navada to hiking through Peaks in Montana. I finally wore through the seat of the pants and I am buying a new pair! The only thing I wish they would change would be adding reinforcement to the inside of the cuffs and the seat of the pants. Other than that they are the best pants I've used for late spring, summer and fall outdoor activities.

My favorite pants
Three months of wearing these pants daily have ruined me and now I don’t want to wear any of my other clothes. I just wash them as quickly as possible and put them back on as quickly as possible.

Great work pant
I have 2 pair of these that I have had for over 3 years and they are still going strong as a work pant. I am a property insurance adjuster so I spend time on roofs, crawling around under houses and in attics, in burnt down houses etc. Love the vent zips on these when it get warm. The only problem I have had with them is the front left pocket where I have my cell phone has developed several holes in them that I had to patch. Sizing is a little off as I normally wear a 34 waist but I need a 36 waist to get the legs to fit.

Great work pants
6ft 170 lbs size 32 waist normally size 48 fits good Great pants for work since the durability of them, like them for cuttting trees and clearing brush since the g1000 fabric is so thick not much stuff can get thru or damage it, walk thru thorns no problem. Only con is they’re hot at 75degrees plus, just make sure you wear longer underwear if you plan on opening the side vents

Same as previous purchase. Waist Tighter.
Watch your sizing. These are fantastic pants but they run tight compared previous versions.

I pretty much only wear the vida pro trousers anymore, both ventilated and unventilated. They are awesome both on the trail, around town, and what I wear everyday working in the park service doing trail work and construction. They are extremely durable, comfortable, and have a flattering cut to them, even if you have a more husky frame.

My favorite pants
Great pants! They are lightweight and comfortable. The sizing is a little tricky because they come in European sizes. Remember to check the size chart if you’ve never bought these before. They also can come in long and short lengths. The only downside is the high price, but I feel that it’s still worth the money.

Fantastic pants but the new sizing is WAY off!
Not sure who is in charge of the new sizing but they are doing a very bad job of it. Pants are fantastic.. I have 4 pairs. I'm size 32US.. but prefer to wear 34US .. just received new pair in size 34US and they more like 30US or smaller, I can't even close them around my waist.

Good but you’ll have to get them altered
I have a pair of these with a 36” waist- but they’re snug/tight. A size up is saggy in the butt. If you measure the inside waist at the waistband they are only 33” and not the 36” they are supposed to be. You can get Fjällräven to alter them though- so plan on doing that. They can add as little as 1” per side (so they can add 2” increments as a minimum alteration).
