Here's what customers have to say
The mountain bike shoes are generally well-received, with praise for their sturdy construction, comfortable fit, and versatility for biking and walking. However, some users note the shoes run narrow, the cleat mounting system can be tricky, and they may be too stiff for extended walking. Overall, the shoes seem to offer good value and performance for most cyclists, though the narrow fit may be a concern for some.

Great sneaker with recessed clip.
From the perspective of someone having worn Chrome Industries Truk Pros for 10+ years: A significant difference is breathability. These Five Tens breathe so much better. It's feature that can't be understated. Another significant difference is the how far recessed the clip is. These Five Tens are nowhere near as recessed as the Truks. It has me concerned that the sole will wear away and the clip will be exposed much sooner than was the case with the Chromes. Another significant difference is the underfoot placement of the clip. I had to push the clip all the way to the front and still couldn't get it far enough forward. I'd prefer that the clip be able to move at least another centimeter to the front of the shoe. As a result, I'm having to adjust to clipping in all over again and I'm not getting the right feel when riding. This annoyance may dissipate over time, but for now I endure. My overall feeling is that these are great. Not necessarily an upgrade to the Truks, but a lateral move trading pros for cons and cons for pros.

good
I bought the Five Ten Trailcross Clip-In Mountain Bike Shoes 2 years ago, and honestly, I’m impressed by how well they’ve held up. After all this time, they still look fresh and feel solid, even after countless rides and tough trails. The grip is strong, the materials are durable, and the clip-in system performs smoothly with my pedals. They’re comfortable enough for all-day rides, yet stiff enough to transfer power efficiently when I need it. The shoes have struck the perfect balance between robustness and flexibility — ideal for both hardcore trails and casual rides. I’m really happy I chose these; they’ve been worth every penny and continue to serve me well. Highly recommended!

Breezy
If you live somewhere with 90+ degree weather all summer, you know that most mountain bike shoes are not made for breathability aside from XC shoes which are in general better ventilated. These are a great option for hot weather riding. I think they could apply a lot of the engineering of this show to the hellcat pro and make a knockout trail shoe. The lacing is much more effective on shoes with flexible uppers than typical mountain bike shoes that have become like stiff plastic over the past 10 years. Runs long... I bought a half size down (11 vs 11.5) after trying my normal size.

Nice looking clip in trail shoe
I’ve only used these for a short period of time but they are on point with the the usual 510 style and quality. Good stiff mid sole and plenty of grip

Great
Overall great shoe but as others have said they do run a little narrow this however isn’t such a bad thing as I find clipless shoes need to be a fairly tight fit. It’s always wise they seem to be fairly accurate. I went a size up as other suggested and ended up coming back down half a size. Quality is as you’d expect from adidas and the price was amazing. Looking forward to falling off many times and back on clipless lol

Uncomfortable, dig into feet
Very uncomfortable, no padding around the feet. You can feel them dig in and can feel the shoe laces as well. I was excited about the idea of a mountain biking shoe that would also be easy to walk/hike in...unfortunately these ended up being a waste of money, even at 50% off. Barely suitable for a short ride, let alone a long one. I don't have wide feet either, and they seem a little small in the toe box. Every other pair of Adidas I've had have been great (which are plenty) but definitely not these.

Great shoes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shoes are excellent, they fit to the size chosen, look great just needed an explanation on the skid plate installation for the cleat as I almost missed it 👍
