Durable, well made

I appreciate this apron this apron because it's incredibly strong and well made; it should last for years. The apron fabric is stiff when brand new so the layered pockets lay flat and tight. It was difficult to reach into the pockets or even slide a tape measure in. To soften them up, I soaked the apron then stuffed the pockets with plastic bottles and blocks of wood to open them up. It helped a lot but the multiple (excess) layers of pockets are still tight. I would prefer pockets with a bit more room for hands, tape measures and retrieving small stuff in the bottom. The straps could also use a crossing buckle in the back. I may sew the crossing straps together and add velcro at the waist belt for quick on & off. Overall, its a great, sturdy apron that others have seen and want to buy

I know this was meant for working on crafts and with tools, but I got this for my boyfriend who loves to cook! My boyfriend normally wears an 2XL and I was fearful that it wouldn't fit, but there is plenty of room (:

First impressions

I love Carhartt products. I'm a chef and I wear their pants on shift. The apron is sharp looking but so stiff. It protects well against hot oil and any other kitchen threats. When it comes out of the wash I have to flatten and crease it immediately or it's a crumpled mess. The strings should be a bit longer so that it may be fastened around the front after looping (I'm not a big guy.) the loops in the back leave room to get caught on things in a rush. lastly, and this is totally on me for not paying more attention, too many pockets. There's no reason for as many that are on the apron and when I use them I have to feel around a lot for what I need. Only other suggestion is a towel ring or clip. It is very well made. Love the cross back. I would even consider buying another but it's intuitively not designed for chef work in my opinion. Just a few miscues. I've only been using it for a month or so so it may break in like a lot of Carhartt products. Time will tell.
