I used this in big cypress, south Florida Everglades pretty deep into the brush. Not quite during peek mosquito season but they were out as the sun set, this did a great job of keeping them away from my face and neck. Very breathable and soft on the nose

Not tick proof
I wore this around my neck all day on the farm, and when i took it off there was a tick on my neck.

Too much insecticide!
Very pretty but loaded with insecticide. Wearing it everyday resulted in a rash on my legs. Within a couple of days without it, the rash disappeared. Clearly it is not good to wear it constantly.

Insect Shield Headwear
I love this product! I have been pulling it up over my hair before I put a hat on to get deep into the bushes to weed. I also wear the full Insect Shield outfit - pants, top, socks. I have not had a single bite and believe me - I have been sitting it the flower beds digging out an overgrown mess for weeks. I bought two outfits so that one can be in the wash. Just wish that it came in more colors!

Cool in more than one way
I wasn't so much concerned with the gaiter's insect repellent qualities, as I use it when riding my bike in NYC. I bought it as a sunscreen. As far as I can tell its power to block UV rays is excellent. I was a bit worried about sweating under it, but even in hot weather the breeze created by the bike's movement passes through the Coolnet's fabric and keeps me cool. I don't get sweaty at all. Unexpectedly, I have received compliments on its appearance!
