What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

Here's what customers have to say
The shoes provide excellent cushioning and support, with a comfortable and responsive feel. However, some users found the updated design changes, such as increased heel cushioning and a narrower toe box, less comfortable compared to previous models. While generally well-received, the shoes may not suit everyone's preferences, so trying them on is recommended.

Unexpected fit
I tried on several shoes of the same model at a local brick and mortar though they did not have my size in this fabric/color I placed my order. The shoes received did not have the same fit as those tried on. I am not upset. They processed my return easily and promptly and it is my intention to purchase a different pair as I believe it is still a good product.

No more Glycerins for me
I've been wearing Glycerins for more than 15 years, and these are the worst. Too small in the toe box and overly squishy cushioning. Honestly, I hate them and need to try to find a new shoe.

Not the same Glycerin as previous ones
Had to return them. So much changed from Glycerin 21. Reminded me more of Hokas and had a lot of foot pain after running in them a week. Found a pair of 21 from another retailer and am back to feeling great. I don’t know why Brooks doesn’t just make a different model instead of continuing to change the existing models so much that one day it’s an entirely different shoe. Same thing happened to Ghosts in 2018.

My go to run shoe! I have 3 diff pair to rotate them out. I have flat feet and I over pronate so I needed the gts and a lot of times stability shoes don’t have a lot of cushion but the glycerin 22 hits the spot. I’ll also say I had the glycerin 20 and 21 and I PR’ed my marathon time by 20+ minutes in the 21 so I was already fan of the glycerin and the 22 just got that much better. Will continue to buy again please don’t get too crazy if you make a 23 these are already doing so well! Maybe a little more support in the arch because I had an injury and noticed the inner sole wearing down on the food that had the injury so you could see the creasing

Uncomfortable ankle area
This is my 4th pair of Brooks in a row. These glycerin 22 ankle area are higher than others I’ve owned and dig into my ankle. I’m returning.

i really wanted them to work but I miss the 21’s!
I absolutely LOVE the glycerin 21’s and have searched high and low for a new pair, but can’t find them anywhere. So I decided to try the 22’s. I loved the yellow color and they are super squishy and comfortable for walking, but the toe area feels more narrow than the 21’s and they made my toes go numb on all three runs I tried. I wanted them to work so much and even tried to convince myself to keep them because they were cute, but I need new running shoes and couldn’t justify keeping just walking shoes. I wish I could find the 21’s!

Love them, I am pace 10ish/mile 7ish/km
I find them to be the best, they are light weight , bounce the perfect amount, I do wear them with custom insoles so the ball of the foot feels more supported than without them. I feel a steady step and I run 6km to 10km 3 times a week and they have worked perfect for me.

Great feel. Soft, Good Support and Stability. Runs Small
I'm sooo happy with the Brooks Glycerin 22 and this are the only shoes I can wear....I skipped the 21 version due to the "wavy" design of the sole that raised up the side the feet and "dug" on my pinky toe. As people age the feet colapses. I need soft shoes that provide support. This one met the criteria. I use wide D to accommodate my orthotics. This model runs small, instead of 8D I had to get 8.5D. LOVE the NEUTRAL COLORS: WHITE, BLACK, BLUE, GREY!!!!

Overall the Glycerin 22 is comfortable. It does have a wider look which gives the appearance that I have a wider foot when I don't. The thing I don't like about this shoe is the hook. I am not sure the reason for this hook but it does get caught in the cuff of my long pants and I have to constantly have to adjust my pant cuffs. I would like to see this hook remove in future Glycerin and I also don't like the look of it either.
