Maximize comfort on every run with Ghost Max 3—plush cushioning meets smooth transitions
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I took the Ghost Max 3 out for a long recovery run and was blown away by how smooth it felt. The cushioning is incredibly protective, but the rocker keeps you moving forward effortlessly. It's stable enough for all-day wear, and roomy enough to accommodate my orthotics with no issue."
We run for a lot of reasons—stress relief, fresh air, training goals—and we reach for the Brooks Ghost Max 3 when we want maximum comfort with none of the fuss. Built with a high stack of DNA LOFT v3 cushioning, this shoe delivers soft, nitrogen-infused protection that minimizes impact and feels plush over any distance. Whether we’re logging easy miles or heading out for long walks, this shoe keeps us comfortable without draining energy.
What sets the Ghost Max 3 apart is the GlideRoll Rocker, which guides us through each stride with smooth, easy transitions. A low offset and wide platform add stability without affecting a neutral gait, making it a top pick for those managing plantar fasciitis or joint discomfort. With its breathable mesh upper, roomy fit, and orthotic-friendly volume, it’s ready for anyone who wants maximum protection in a surprisingly light-feeling ride.

The shoes provide excellent comfort and support, with great cushioning and stability that make them suitable for various activities like walking, standing, and running. Many reviewers found the shoes to be smooth and supportive, and some reported they helped alleviate issues like plantar fasciitis. What can I say... Amazing!
Amazing shoe. Purchased for trip to WDW. 15 miles of walking each day and feet and legs were always comfortable. Not sure if foam is infused with nitrogen or pixie dust. Have not used for jogging yet but very stable for speed walking, you feel like they propel you forward. Amazing shoes.

Run big
Decent, but run large. They are soft and do feel good, but the sizing is off.

Great Fitting Shoe
Wow. The shoemfor my feet;;;;; First shoe I ever got frombrooks that feels comfortable without multiple shoe modifications that I havenhad to make for my multiplr problems. The Ghost 17 has greatcushuining but the top did not fit my foot problems without modifying yhe top of the shoe to allow the right movement. I still knew the shoe was causing my bunion to know it was there. The AdrenalineGTS 24 fit the top of my foot because of the medial structure of the shoe that allowed the top of my foot to be comfortable but was too stiff. Then I saw the Ghost Max 3 that had a similar top of the shoe to the Adrenaline but much better with a soft top. and less side support Put my insole(Powerstep Wide) and elastic laces and have been smiling ever since as it actually fits and allows ankle and foot motion. I can move again!!! Thanks to the designers to fit my needs without my own modifications which is why normally I need to buya shoe and modify it to allow me to move This shoe feels great and allows my kinetic chainto work right. Lst night onmy Concept 2 rower I was faster than I had been for a long time.

Max 3
Great combination of cushioning and stability. Fits well with toe box design.

Comfy, lot's of cushion, but narrow!
I purchased the new Ghost Max 3 and so far they are wonderful! I had to go with a wider (2EE) shoe as the regular D width was much too narrow. I didn't have to go with 2EE in the Adrenaline 22, 23, or the Glycerin 21 shoes but the Ghost Max 3 were much more narrow than the shoes I had been wearing. The 2EE in a 9.5 was very comfortable with lots plush cushioning. I use them for the cross-trainer, treadmill at the gym and just walking around during the day. If you don't want a lot of cushioning then these aren't for you, but then they don't call Ghost Max 3 for nothing!

Loose in the toe box. Upper knit is loose/flimsy as well and foot is not stable. Lack of foot stability + large midsole makes these shoes a broken ankle waiting to happen. Style is nice but these shoes are dangerous. Would return if possible.

Get yourself a pair of Brooks
I have osteoarthritis in both my feet. Between these and my Brooks Glycerin, I've never had more comfortable shoes. I can actually walk 10k steps plus in a day with no additional pain

Changed from the Original Max
I started off with the original Ghost Max and went through many pairs. One pair of Ghost Max 2, where I found the toe box smaller than the original. Now the Ghost Max 3 opens up the toe box but they are cut differently near the ankles and actually rub them. Not even going to try to run with them as I know I will end up with cuts. Unfortunately, these will be returned and I have to look for a new running shoe.

I own the Ghost Max 1,2 (4 pair) and 3’s also the Glycerin Max (2 pairs), Glycerin Stealth, Beast and Caldera (4 pairs). The Ghost 3 seem to be roomier, and for me have a better look. I walk 5 miles 4 days a week and so far they’ve done well. No blisters and recovery time between walks is minimal. I’ll order another pair soon.
