I hiked in Brooks Cascadias for years and loved them and then my feet grew enough that I needed a wide (I was on a 2-week hike and after a few days my feet started getting numb every time I put the shoes on). I tried several other brands for a couple of years that were ok but then I noticed that the women's Cascadia came in wide so I ordered a pair and they are absolutely excellent, everything that I remembered about my previous pairs except that my feet didn't get numb anymore, yay! Excellent traction on the famous New England rocks and roots, nice and cushiony (although I did add an aftermarket insole to help with this). However, the laces on these new Cascadias are absolutely dreadful. Shoelaces, you have ONE JOB and that job is to stay tied after I tie them. These laces fail at their one job - I had to retie them several times a day even after using a double knot AND a surgeon's knot. I finally pilfered laces off an older, different brand shoe I had and now my Cascadias are perfect. Hey Brooks, I don't remember having any issues with any of your older laces (and I probably owned at least 8 pairs over the years) - why did you change them???? I knocked a star off this review because of the laces, that's how bad they are. They're so bad that a super comfy shoe that I love dearly lost an entire star because of them. (Full disclosure: I bought them earlier this year so they are the 18 and not the 19 but looking at the photos here I can tell that they're the same frictionless laces that the 18 came with. No bueno, Brooks! Bad shoe company!)

Slightly too squishy

I’ve done 4-5 runs in these since receiving them last week. Pros- they feel lighter than the previous model. Fit is great for me. I have a more narrow foot, but developing a small bunion and they were ok in the toe box. Cons- the cushioning is on the squishier side. My joints and I preferred last year’s model that was a bit firmer. It seems like Brooks along w other companies keep going towards softer cushioning. I’m a PT, as well as runner, and feel this really doesn’t work for a people even though that’s the trend.

Great color, comfortable, slightly bigger

I loved this color but unfortunately this new model fit me bigger than the previous one. I had to return.

Awesome version!

I’ve used Cascadias for over 10 years for both trail running and backpacking, and this is easily one of the best versions yet. The 19s are stable, protective, and grippy, with just the right balance of cushion and ground feel. They handle technical terrain well and feel secure without being stiff. I love how light they are compared to years past! Great fit, no fuss — I didn’t have to adjust the laces once. I purchased my usual size 10 for running shoes (9 in regular shoes) and they fit well. I just hope Brooks adds more color options!

Great running shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shoe has everything I look for in a running shoes. The fit is true to size and comfy. The shoes are lightweight and not clunky like I was expecting when I saw the sole size. The fabric is breathable which is helpful for long workouts and occasional puddles. You won't be walking around with a puddle in your shoes with these. There's plenty of padding in the upper shoe meaning it was comfortable from the start without having to break these in. These feel like all terrain shoes. They've got great grip that's kept me stable in slick conditions. Overall, I really like these shoes!

Intentional design - best Brooks yet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have several pairs of Brooks in my arsenal, but this one is the most rugged in terms of its "trailtack" soles - which isn't to say that I don't wear these in my neighborhood runs, because I do! But I also feel more equipped to take my runs from streets to trails in these shoes more than any of my others. I love a lot of the details on these shoes, especially things like how the laces loop in and out near the tongue of the shoe - it's an improvement over the traditional eyelet in my opinion. These are lightweight and yet sturdy - a perfect hybrid shoe. As with all my Brooks shoes, I'm apt to get these lighter colorways dirty quickly, but the fabric cleans quickly and easily.

Excellent Trail Running Shoes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very impressed by the grip these shoes had while I was trail running. They might be the best grip I’ve ever found in a running shoe. They’re also incredibly light. The design was neutral, which is nice because I didn’t have to worry about it clashing with any of my running gear. I did find them to be a little tight. I usually wear a size 7 shoe, but probably would have been more comfortable with a 7.5.

Comfortable Fit with Great Trail Grip

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shoes are incredibly comfortable—the cushioned bottoms provide great support and give my run a bit of a springy feel, which makes a big difference on long runs. The fit is just right, snug but not tight, and very supportive. The upper part of the shoe has a protective air mesh that lets my feet breathe, which I really love—my feet don’t feel hot or sweaty, even after miles on the trail or hot pavement. The outsoles are perfect for trail running—they grip really well and give me confidence on uneven terrain. I also love the way they look! I have the white ones, and they’re super stylish. I wore them during a color run, so now mine are covered in different colors, but they still look great and feel just as good. What I love most is how comfortable they are—they really make running more enjoyable. If I could change one thing, I might ask for a slightly easier-to-clean fabric, (I tried cleaning them after the color run, and the powdered paint doesn't come off). But honestly, that’s a minor thing. These shoes are a win in every way!
