Trail-ready stability and waterproof confidence in the Cascadia 19 GTX Trail Running Shoe
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I’ve tested the Cascadia 19 GTX in soggy alpine meadows and rocky switchbacks, and its traction and waterproofing are unbeatable. The nitrogen-infused midsole makes it feel cushioned yet stable—ideal for all-day efforts on unpredictable terrain."
When the mountain forecast promises rain, mud, and miles of trail, we lace up the Brooks Cascadia 19 GTX Trail Running Shoe and lean into the challenge. This trail workhorse blends comfort, protection, and support to tackle technical terrain in any condition. With a GORE-TEX® Invisible Fit membrane bonded directly to the upper, the Cascadia 19 GTX keeps feet dry without feeling stiff or bulky.
We love how the new Trail Adapt System teams up with the Ballistic Rock Shield and nitrogen-infused DNA Loft v3 midsole to deliver a ride that’s soft on impact, stable under pressure, and flexible across mixed trail surfaces. TrailTack Green rubber delivers all-surface grip and leans into sustainability with 25% recycled content. Whether you're skimming through puddles or scrambling steep ridgelines, this shoe keeps your stride secure, smooth, and steady.

Consistent sizing ?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I find them more comfortable than my Glycerin GTS- however, my right shoe is tight on my foot -I’ve never had this issue with any other Brooks shoe.

Excellent initial impressions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent trail shoe. Coming from the Caldera, this model feels more nimble while still providing ample room in the toebox and solid stability on uneven, technical terrain. The fit runs true to size, and the lacing system is excellent. I haven’t tested the waterproofing yet, but initial impressions are very positive.

Great fit, waterproof, good looking
Very comfortable Love the lacing with fixed tongue. Waterproof makes them special. Feel similar to my favorite Glycerin model 15 years ago.

Awesome for golf. Please make in neutral color next year!
These are awesome for golf! Way more comfy than any golf shoe I've tried and the grip is just the same, even on wet turf. Brooks, please make these in a more neutral color next year and advertise them to golfers everywhere!

I love these shoes!! The support is awesome! The comfort is awesome! The traction is awesome! I haven’t worn them in the rain yet but have every confidence that they will be waterproof as advertised.

Great shoe. Awesome redesign.
So, I work outside doing lawn and landscaping work. For years I wore steel-toed boots, but they aren’t necessary for 90%. the time. They definitely contribute to plantar fasciitis and that had become a major problem. Fast forward through at least four pair of Cascadia 18’s and now these come out. I always had to wear a pair of insoles with the 18’s because you had to order a full size up (due to the goretex) and they really weren’t Brooks comfortable to begin with. With this pair of GTX 19’s, they answered all my beefs and more. They come in half sizes. Check. They are LEAGUES more comfortable. Check. And, they significantly changed the appearance and I like it. There’s really nothing to complain about. The traction in these is awesome, and I can spray them down too to bottom without my feet getting soaked. Wet grass is nothing for them. They wear out kind of fast, but I can’t complain since I’m using them for a purpose well outside what they were designed for. (Like walking up and down an expanded metal gate 20 times a day) By the way, when I bought these, they weren’t even available on the Brooks website yet. I got them from Dick’s sporting goods. I deliberately looked for the 19’s because I kept noticing the 18’s on a significant sale.

Trail Runner - solid shoe with great grip
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been running for years and age combined with hard surfaces has caught up with me resulting in 2 fused vertebrae so it's critical I have the right running shoe. I tell people in my situation to do their research, not all shoes are made the same, not all brands are equal. Some brands have features that don't seem that important in the beginning but will be critical later on, especially if you stick to running on dirt trails over cement. Comfort, cushion, weight & and grip are important features for trail running. Don't overlook grip; slipping on uneven surfaces or loose gravel can cause issues. I got a pair of these Brooks Cascadia 19 GTX and have been running in them for a few weeks, I run 4 to 5 times a week so my shoes get a good work out. The first thing you will notice out of the box is the comfort, they seemed a little stiff at first but that goes away quickly. They are light with great cushion. The highlight of these shoes won't occur until your out on a trail - the treads are rugged but not heavy on the feet. I have had no issues running on uneven terrain and no slipping on lose dirt or gravel. I haven't had the opportunity to use them in the rain but suspect they will grip well in light mud. They have great grip combined with ground feel so you feel connected to the ground while running. Great shoe, especially for trials. Pros - lots of them. I focus on function over all else, but I have to say these are darn good looking shoes. Cons - not many. They are not cheap but you get quality. I felt like they ran a bit small. I'll get many miles out of these without the sore back. Very solid shoe. Happy Trails!

Trail Beast with Waterproof coverage!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Men’s Cascadia 19 GTX is everything I want in a trail running shoe — durable, comfortable, and weatherproof. The Gore-Tex upper is a game changer. I’ve powered through rain, mud, and even shallow streams without a second thought. My feet stayed dry, warm, and blister-free. What really stands out is the stability and grip. Whether I’m cruising downhill or navigating rocky switchbacks, the traction feels solid and dependable. The cushioning strikes the perfect balance — soft enough for long miles but firm enough for technical terrain. Also worth mentioning: they broke in fast. No awkward rubbing, no pressure points. Just lace up and go. If you’re looking for a waterproof trail runner that feels secure, supportive, and built for all-season adventures, the Cascadia 19 GTX is the one. Highly recommend to any serious trail runner or hiker who doesn’t let bad weather slow them down.

Perfect Fit and Cloud-Like Comfort
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently received the men's Cascadia 19 GTX shoes(size 8.5), and these things are like strapping little clouds to my feet. Perfect fit, zero break-in needed, and every step feels like a soft high-five for my toes. I've even taken them for a spin on my scooter- still comfortable, still solid, no weird rubbing or slipping. They are a little on the bulky side, but honestly, when the shoe feels this good, who cares? They're built tough, the material screams quality, and the color scheme goes well with pretty much anything. These are a win all the way around.

Big time improvement
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was not a fan of the 18s, but these, with the updated outsole, have been a delight. I thought the 18s felt like a brick or a block was just strapped to the bottom of my foot and it would twist around my foot if I landed on a rock funny. These have slightly more cushion, not too squishy for sure, and that helps my foot mesh and sink into the shoes so much better. This gives me more control on very technical trails and hikes. It helps me have more confidence in runs and doesn’t hurt my ankles since it doesn’t twist around my foot. I wear them trail running and hiking predominantly, but I took them fishing the other day, and they worked great for that too! The gtx doesn’t make them hot, but it did great keeping my feet dry running through puddles, mud, and wet grass. I’ve never thought I’d want gtx and I’ve tried some shoes with it, but these helped me see how great it can be! The laces and upper work as they should. Breathable upper and the laces don’t come untied on runs. I’d use these for a trail race, ultra, hiking, camping, pretty much anything in the woods. Very versatile shoes! But my favorite part is the increased cushion compared to the previous iteration. Something I’d change would be adding a heel loop to help slip them on, but everything else works great!
