Here's what customers have to say

The gloves are widely praised for their warmth and comfort, keeping hands warm even in very cold conditions. They are described as well-made, durable, and versatile, suitable for a variety of winter activities. The removable liner is a standout feature that allows the gloves to be used in a range of temperatures. However, some reviewers note the gloves are quite bulky and may limit dexterity. Overall, the gloves are considered an excellent choice for cold weather protection and outdoor adventures.

Excellent gloves

I recently used these gloves on two different 11-12 hour hikes in chilly conditions. Temps were minus 12 F with wind chill at minus 20 to minus 30 F. These kept my hands warm from start to finish. Even with a good amount of hand sweat they still performed well and the gloves didn’t feel damp on the inside. I highly recommend these gloves.

really bulky glove

As Ive said before, the new Terminator is much lighter than it used to be, and the new Punisher is much like the old Terminator and a good medium weight glove. So I bought the soloist online thinking it would be a good backup to my old heavy Punishers. Not so. The soloist seems to really be a non-technical glove perhaps for general mountaineering, or perhaps as a belay glove (it does come in a lobster claw which is nice for keeping fingers warm while belaying and racking). It is MUCH bulkier than the old Punisher, more insulated yes, but also fingers are longer and clumsy, and lots of extra material in the palm. No way I would be able to do ice or mixed in it - would drop all of my screws and draws! Although, it admittedly seems like its probably a lot warmer than the old Punishers. In comparison, the Hestra Alpinist Pro seems quite similar to the old Punishers, and this is quite a bit bulkier and warmer than either. so perhaps it would be great as a winter dog-route glove where you don't need the dexterity but the added warm and wind protection is helpful. just not useful for me.

Dissapointing

For the bulkiness and price of these gloves I expected warmer. Had these on snowblowing my driveway with wxtra liners inside for 45 mins in -7 C and had to switch to mittens because my fingers were numb.

Great Build and warmth

From ice climbing to high-altitude expeditions, these gloves strike the perfect balance between warmth, dexterity, and durability. The removable liner is a game-changer, offering flexibility and easy drying during multi-day trips.

So happy so far

Haven’t had a chance to wear them on the mountain yet, but they are extremely thick which hopefully translates to warmth. My hands tend to be very cold, in fact my whole body probably runs colder than most, so I usually dress 10 degrees warmer than everyone else. Bought them for use with an ice axe. Dexterity was a decent for how thick the fingers are. Not planning on losing one of those! Very well made piece of clothing. Can’t wait to try them out.

Best Gloves So Far!!

These are the best gloves I have used to date! Built very very well. My hands get cold very easily, I wore these snowmobiling in -35c weather and my hands were never cold. I wear size large gloves but went with medium as BD gloves seem to run a bit big. My only complaint is they are a bit too chunky but that is the cost for warmth.

Good gloves

Didn't get the chance to test them yet, but they look really warn, with two distinct layers. Excited to wear them this winter!

Outstanding Value from BD!

I have had a few Black Diamond in the past and always very impressed with their quality and craftsmanship. The Ski Glove world with quality competitors and I tried on some buddies' gear and like a few other brands in the realm of price and weather protections before I made the BD purchase. The quality and warmth just seem to be on another level. Once I proudly peacocked my new gloves around my friends now can't wait to wear out their existing gloves to order some BD gloves!
