Impulse 98 Ski blends resort power with backcountry versatility for true all-mountain freedom
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"The Impulse 98 has been my go-to when I’m not sure if I’ll be skiing lifts or touring. It feels stable and confident on groomers, but still light enough that I don’t hesitate to throw skins on for a quick tour. The rocker in the tip and tail gives it enough float to handle powder, and the camber underfoot holds strong when the snow gets firm. It’s a ski that really does everything well."
Who It’s For
Resort Skiers Who Tour & Touring Skiers Who Ride Lifts:
Perfect for intermediate to advanced skiers who want one setup for both resort laps and backcountry missions. A great choice for those who value versatility across snow conditions and terrain, without needing multiple skis.
What It’s For
All-Mountain Versatility Inbounds and Out:
Made for skiers who split their time between groomers, trees, powder stashes, and sidecountry. With its 98mm waist, rocker/camber/rocker profile, and tail skin clip, the Impulse 98 transitions seamlessly from carving corduroy to skintrack laps.
Why We Like It
Balanced Performance On Both Sides of the Rope:
We like the Impulse 98 because it nails the hybrid resort-backcountry category. The poplar wood core paired with fiberglass layup keeps the ski stiff and energetic, while the flat-top construction with ABS sidewalls adds torsional strength and durability. It feels strong underfoot but not so heavy that touring is a chore.

Excellent Response!!
Skis are awesome!! They are stable on the groomers, cut nicely through the crud and have a great look. I was impressed with their response and liveliness coming out of turns. Love them!

I really like these skis.
I really like these skis. Just skied them for 4 days and they floated well for a 98mm waist, blew through chopped up snow and held their own bombing down groomers at the end of the day. They are quick to turn and I love them in the trees and tight chutes. Really fun over all and the only weakness is that I will only tour on them for short sidecountry laps since they are a little heavy with the shift binding attached, but I really bought them as a lighter front country ski that can tour if needed and they fit that bill perfectly.

I’m around 5”7 and bought
I’m around 5”7 and bought the 168cm. They’re super light to hike up and they carve pretty well going down (this was important to me as I’m an ex ski racer and mostly ski in resorts).

Great All Mountain Ski
I skied these for the first time this weekend, and I loved them! Great feel and transitioned from the icy conditions to the softer snow well.

Good All Mountain Ski
The wide shovel allows it to perform surprising well in Powder for how skinny it is. Playful and easy to maneuver in the trees. And easy to get on edge on the groomers. Not the stiffest ski but holds an edge and doesn't chatter too much at speed. A good all round ski, especially if you want a one-ski quiver for the resort.

Impulse 98
The impulse 98 ski feels very responsive and light yet on fast downhill skiing there was no chatter. Got to ski them in the trees in powder and they really handled well. Light enough for uphill off piste yet charge hard on piste.

Blown away
I just finished my first two days on these at Crested Butte and I could not be happier. I’ve never felt this much control on a pair of skis across all types of terrain. From piste to powder, moguls, and everything in between, I felt pure joy. I can’t recommend highly enough.

Impulse
Full time patrol and wanted a ski that was quicker edge to edge. I have the Boundary Pro 107s and these are like the more nimble, faster turning brother of the Boundary Pro. We have a lot of tree runs and narrow bump runs and the Impulse 98 is my new daily driver. Awesome work ski, fun to ski on days off also. You can't go wrong, if on the fence about these I recommend them. Durable base so far, holds a good edge on hardpack manmade slippery concrete.
