There are more sticks than it seems

Expedition 3 trekking poles (item number BD11159100001401, size 140 cm, white color with green elements) for six months for trekking, hiking, and mountain trips. At first, I was a bit worried that the white color would quickly get dirty or that the poles would get lost in the snow, but in practice the coating turned out to be very practical – dirt hardly absorbs and is easy to clean, and the green elements are clearly visible on the white surface, so there were no problems with visibility. The poles pleasantly surprised me with their light weight, especially combined with their strength: during intensive use they did not deform or become loose. The locks are convenient to operate even with warm gloves, reliably fixing the sections without any play. The tips hold confidently on various surfaces – from rocks to minor irregularities of the terrain – and at the same time they hardly leave marks on stones, which also shows the high quality of the materials. During all the time of use, I have not found any serious drawbacks. Overall, these poles have proven themselves as reliable and comfortable equipment that I can confidently recommend for active hikes and mountain routes.

Great poles

These replaced a lost pair and work just fine. The colors are easier to spot compared to the gray/blue ones.

Awesome poles with one gripe

First off. These things are bomber. Very sturdy and durable. The locking mechanism is strong and didn’t notice any slipping (which is saying something as I’m running them at the full 140cm and weigh 225+). My one gripe is that (although probably user error), no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t get the baskets to lock into place. I ended up losing one in deep conditions on my first trip with these. Will have to buy a new set. As mentioned, likely user error, but shouldn’t be rocket science to get these in place. Your mileage may vary on this issue.

Really poor quality - broke multiple times

I was gifted these less than a year ago as a replacement for my aging Alpine Carbons which I have beat the heck out of all over the world. I am not sure what BD was thinking with the Expedition 3s but the whole build quality is very poor and have broken multiple times in less than a year. I trained pretty heavily (1x a week) with the E3s and took them to Denali in May this year (2024). They held up fine to Denali conditions, but with normal use after that have completely fallen apart. I know Denali takes a lot out of gear but for “Expedition” poles to die after a single expedition seems pretty weak. Definitely would not recommend. Shame! Btw, the Alpine Carbons are still going strong.

Just what you need and nothing more.

Nothing fancy just a great splitboard pole. I really like the longer foam handles for choking up on the pole while side hilling or booting. They also collapse to a great size to strap to your backpack while riding.

Best poles for splitting!

These poles are lightweight, compact, and overall very durable. Definitely my favorite poles to use for splitting. Also double as hiking poles in the summer. 100% recommend!

Nice Ski Poles

Good poles. Haven't had issues with them collapsing on my yet - despite being a fairly large guy (~210 lbs) + pack weight. Make sure you put the powder baskets on well - I lost mine on my first ski run. Had to go back and find them.

Excellent Compact Poles

Been eyeing up collapsable poles for a while now and finally got them. They were excellent for what I needed - something I could throw on/in a pack for when I needed to go pole-less and easily extended when I needed them. Locking mechanism was nice and snug and the length markings on each section made it extremely easy to line up each time. Definitely recommend these poles!
