Great in many ways, but not breathable enough
I really love this hoodie in so many ways. It's the best sun coverage I've found -- the hood is actually big enough that it provides protection for the face rather than just the neck, and the zip is just really convenient. But after feeling like I was suffocating in it on some hikes above the treeline, I went back to an older hoodie from another brand. The improvement in breathability was staggering. (But my face burned because the hood wasn't big enough!) So BD, I'm begging you -- make a version of this in one of the ultralight grid fabrics that breathes better. That would be perfect for a lot of folks/situations!

Perfect for backpacking/climbing
This worked out perfectly for a multiday backpacking trip. I kept the hood on all day, over a baseball hat, and with sunglasses - well protecting my face from the sun - no sunscreen needed! I also have worn it while rock climbing - love it.

Great train running sun hoody.
Great train running sun hoody. I'm tall, 5'10", and it reaches down my entire torso and to my wrists. I really like that it is light weight, moisture wicking, and has ventilation to help me keep cool during more challenging outings.

Excellent sun protection for high altitude climbing
Just the right amount of thickness and ventilation for full day sun exposure at high altitude. This is not the sun shirt I turn to for most summer multipitch climbing as it is far too warm/thick.

Best Technical shirt!
Been the Alpenglow Pro Hoody for every hike I’ve been on the last few months. It’s the best technical shirt I’ve ever owned and I’d recommend it to everyone to get at least one in the closet for use. Black diamond crushed it with this shirt. It’s held up to falls, rock abrasions, thorns, sharp leaves, you name it and the shirt has been rock solid. Some how this magical shirt is warm when it’s cold and windy, cool when it’s hot and muggy. It’s perfect for pretty much all conditions. The thumb holes are super nice for hiking poles and some hand coverage in the sun. The zipper is awesome for hotter days and doesn’t irritate or cause chafing that I’ve experienced on other base zippers. The hoody being stretchy and of the same material turns it into a AC for your head on while blocking the sun.

I wish I got an
I wish I got an xs. I’m always either a sm or xs. 5,6” 125, and the small is pretty loose, but okay. Otherwise it’s perfect. The perfect layer for running in 40-50 degree weather.

Comfy and Cool
This is a very comfortable sun sweater. It was surprisingly cool for being a darker color, at least in 60 degree weather. I’ll see how it does when it gets hotter out. The hood is a great size for climbing. The finger holes are great for some hand coverage. The only thing I wish it had is some side pockets. Ordered another one in yellow.

The Perfect Adventure Sun Hoody!
This is going to be my new Go-To for Spring ski touring when it's just a little too warm for a shell but the high altitude requires a high level of sun protection! The zippered front and vented areas are strategically placed! The fit is great and the way the fabric lays is soft and comfortable without being clingy.
