Great hiking short

A really well made hiking short. I like the fabric which is super light and quick drying. The length is perfect. Very little fabric drag while lifting your legs while climbing. It is now my go to hiking short. I highly recommend the Wasatch Ripstop Short

Perennial purchaser and enjoyer of the Wasatch short. Five starts up to this point in 2025.The 2025 sizing is consistently larger than the 2023 and 2024 purchases I made (all purchases Medium). On the medium, the waist is approximately 1" larger on two pairs of 2025 Wasatch shorts (in different colors) versus that of 2023 and 2024 purchases. Would love more consistency in sizing at this $70 price point.

I’ve only taken them on one trip but so far they’re amazing. The built in belt is a great feature and works perfectly. I don’t wear underwear out on the trail and these shorts are still VERY comfortable.

Pros - technical fabric - style - integrated belt that's easy to adjust and undo - thigh pocket Cons - thigh pocket zipper zipper garage to keep the zipper from flapping around is challenging to get the zipper into. ideally the zipper garage should be be a stiffer rubber material to hold it's shape or the zipper itself should be a self locking zipper when folded. - the belt loop is a stretchy material that feels weak. The threading is already undone.

I have had these shorts for a couple months now and so far they are holding up well after several uses for mountain biking and hiking. Stylish enough to wear casually as well. Only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because the zipper pockets aren’t quite big enough to hold an iPhone 13. Nothing wrong with the shorts but would be nice if the pockets were slightly bigger.

A solid option for a lightweight, durable short that won't break the bank. I like the built in belt and fit a lot. Been using them on a few hikes now and wet wading fly fishing all with no complaints. 4/5 stars because I haven't had them long enough to know true long-term durability but not expecting any issues. Backcountry - make more color options please! Could use these in some more blues or grays :)

Love the material and style. But I bought a small and was swimming in it! Strangely huge. I'm a muscular guy so they should have been tight if anything, but they were more like wearing a dress than hiking shorts - super baggy legs especially in the rear. The waist was big, but the built in belt solved that. Really wanted to love these, but after trying them on and wearing them around, couldn't bring myself to keep them. Returned (bummer I had to pay return shipping, but that is clear in the return policy)

These shorts are GREAT. I loved them so much that I bought another pair shortly after receiving my first pair. great color scheme, wears really comfortably/lots of flex, and can be put through the ringer. They're great for both around the house and trekking in some serious terrain. I love the water resistant nature of the short. Highly recommend.

Love these shorts! perfect material for breathability and stretch. I have used them so far almost everyday this summer from pack rafting to 30 mile hikes in Alaska.
