Great Lightweight Jacket

We have a problem here in Salt Lake. Well a few, and this jacket actually manages to solve several of them. First, our roads are massive. While some cities give the right of way to pedestrians, Salt Lake instead offers walkers and joggers little orange flags at each intersection you can wave in hopes someone driving a lifted truck will see. The MTN air's neon-yellow color gives you more visibility than a hungry influencer with a budget for fake likes. The jacket also has reflective hits, giving you even more flashes, lighting you up brighter than a 1850s Christmas tree. The second problem the jacket solves is being breathable and light but providing just enough cover to give you protection from the sun, wind, and slight morning chills. SLC is know for cool morning, scorching hot afternoons, and chilly evenings. This jacket somehow helps regulate all that, acting as a heavily used thermostat in frat house. It's cooling when you need it to be, but also provides just a tiny bit of warmth for those mornings and evenings. Lastly the slight sun protection is always night. I'm not sure how the patch job on the ozone is going, but if you're like me, you start frying faster than olive oil on a cast iron skillet. This jacket keeps your arms, head, and neck out of sun while you run.

BAD SIZING RAN TOO BIG

Wrong sizing, ran big and no smaller size available so I went to Steep and Cheap and got a similar item less than the price offered at Backcountry. Ended up giving my MTN Air to my son who loves it and fit him well. Need to give better sizing references in your ads.

RAN BIGGER THAN I ANTICIPATED

I'm 5'8, 200lbs and usually wear XL, after viewing size charts, and stating Athletic fit, I went up one size to XXL. The shoulders fit good but sleeve lengths are too long as well as length of jacket, hood is huge, and negative area is the stash chest pocket which doesn't take the larger jacket and needs to be a good inch bigger. I'm sure the smaller size jackets had little problem. I do like the jacket but need a XL and unfortunately the jacket is now sold out so I'm stuck with it. Debating on returning it.

Only knock is it's a little long - though I suppose that's ideal for biking. I'm 6'0 and ordered a Medium. The fit is the only issue. And it would've been nice if the hood fit my helmet more easily, though I realize the jacket was not designed for cycling (my main use). Love how light it is, and the reflectors as well. The color is great, and the zip pockets are convenient. It displaced heat pretty well after I tested it on the rowing machine.

Light, durable, packable!

Love the color pop! It stands out in a world of blues, blacks and greys. Fits to size, lightly waterproof if you're caught in a quick rain shower. Meanwhile if you're spending the day out on the boat, it's a nice windbreaker, and stops the occasional spray as well.

Insane Jacket

I don't know how a jacket can keep you warm on a cold morning, but then also keep you cool later in the day when the sun is beating down. It's got this awesome wicking material that actually feels cold when you're biking or running in it drenched in sweat. But then it dries super fast and then keeps you warm when the sun goes down. It's super light and fits in a camelbak too. 10 out of 10 on this thing. It will go with me on every excursion from now on.

I dont leave the house without this. Protects me from mosquitos, from the wind and adds some shading from the sun. Lightweight enough to forget you have it on and packable enough to fit in your pocket if need be, or in your running vest or anywhere you want to fit it in your backpack. This with the Runoff 2.5L Rain Jacket is the perfect combo for outdoor adventures where it might rain or be a little breezy

This jacket is incredible. It is equal parts rain jacket, wind shell and sun hoody with each function actually working. I've used it anywhere from desert hiking to spring alpine tours and everything inbetween and it has never disapointed me. Now its not 100% waterproof but I've stayed dried through many spring/ summer storms, with being completely dry 15 minutes after the rain stops. The fit is great, just a little on the loose side which is perfect. One thing is I find difficult is to stow it, but for what it does so that is more than tolerable.

This is the perfect lightweight jacket for those unpredictable days that happen every shoulder season. Overall this jacket is something I consider grabbing on my way out the door all spring long, it's light weight and water resistant to protect you against a light drizzle. I've been packing this jacket into its chest pocket and using the strap to slide it onto my MTB hip pack when the forecast is unpredictable, its so light i don't even notice it there. In my mind this is an active windbreaker, it breathes excellent, and keeps the elements out just enough. The overall fit is pretty good, I've found the arms to be a bit tight, so size up if you've got a gun show, but the body of this jacket fits excellent. If you haven't bought one yet, just do it, you won't regret this purchase.

Got one of these for myself and my wife. I run a little warm and usually wet out and get clammy fast in a normal rain jacket. This jacket doesn’t let that happen. Kept me dry in a down pour while grilling and is great to leave on while pedaling hard on the trails. The forearms are a little tight for me as I have larger arms but the rest of the jacket fits great. This will be a staple for me from now on. I’d like to see more clothing in this material. Like a vest and shorts and pants. Let’s make it happen backcountry keep up the good work on your clothing line.
