Here's what customers have to say

The Astral shoes are generally well-received, with reviewers praising their comfort, breathability, and wide toe box. Many find them suitable for everyday wear, including office and outdoor activities. The zero-drop design and cushioning appeal to those who prefer a more minimal, barefoot-style shoe. However, some wish there were more color options beyond the light shades. The sizing also seems to run a bit large, with recommendations to order a half-size down. Overall, the shoes are described as high-quality and versatile.

Great shoes!!

I love these shoes, they fit true to size. They grip on the raft great and protects my toes from hitting rocks in the river. I should have bought these sooner.

A little small, but great shoes

They seem to run a little small, so order next size up. Very comfortable, my favorite shoes. I think I like the brewer 2.0 looks better than 3.0, but they all feel just right on my feet, and they're sturdy and great, so I don't care. Love them.

Much better than the 2.0

Love the sturdiness, fast draining and drying, and suitable for most river hikes.

Torn out mesh, too wide, long laces

I’ve had quite a few pair of Astral footwear. Mostly the TR1 Mesh… and they were always the perfect fit. And they have always been my everything shoes. I wear them to hike, work, jump in the river, everything… The only issue I had with those was that the mesh tore at the same spot on one or both shoes every time. The soles and the rest of the shoe were great, but having holes in perfectly good shoes isn’t great. I changed to the Brewer 3.0 when they recently updated the models in the whole Astral line (including the TR1 Mesh, which I did not like the looks and/or colors). After wearing the Brewer for a few weeks, the updated styles seem to be trending toward wider feet, which I’ve already experienced in much of the footwear industry… and is disappointing, because I HAD always been very pleased in the past with the secure and supportive fit on the Astrals. The fit on the Brewer 3.0 is NOT supportive or secure. And they are too wide. And the laces are at least 3 inches too long (another phone-it-in trend I’ve experienced in the footwear industry). I fear that Astral has lost that attention to detail that I had come to love, and is beginning to be, like many footwear companies, more interested in mass production than quality. I am very sad to say… I’ll try the TR1 mesh one last time, but… This may be my last pair of Astral shoes. ☹️

TTS, Great shoe!

Really loving these! I wasn’t sure what size to get. Based on other people’s suggestions, I went up half a size. Definitely didn’t need to. These are perfect if you go with your regular shoe size. They’re sturdier than the Loyak and I feel like my feet won’t get banged up as much when I’m on the river.

Amazing shoe

Purchased for salt and fresh water fishing kayak adventures--first time I wore them, I walked down a steep ramp incline and into the ocean to launch my 150 lb. boat--didn't slip, tons of traction--and then walked around in them for a few minutes while I finished rigging my boat--crazy comfortable even wet?! Fished in them for hours pedaling my kayak and then wore them while cleaning up my boat and putting away gear (climbing stairs carrying heavy stuff)...just plain comfortable. I can't say enough about these shoes...how can shoes that you don't wear with socks be so comfortable (yes, I'm the guy who wears socks with sandals because my feet are uncomfortable.) Just ordered a second set.
