GEL-NIMBUS 27 cushions every stride for max comfort on daily road runs

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I’ve run in a lot of shoes, but nothing beats the GEL-NIMBUS 27 for all-day comfort. Whether it’s a long weekend run or just a recovery jog, the soft ride and plush upper make every mile easier. It’s the shoe I grab when I want to treat my feet."

From the first mile to the last, the ASICS GEL-NIMBUS 27 keeps us comfortable and cruising. This premium neutral running shoe is built for soft landings, smooth transitions, and long-lasting support. Whether we're logging our weekly distance or heading out for an easy shakeout, the GEL-NIMBUS 27's high-cushion platform makes every step feel forgiving and fluid.

Engineered with FF BLAST PLUS ECO midsole foam, the GEL-NIMBUS 27 offers ultra-lightweight cushioning with a softer underfoot feel, while the updated knit upper adds flexible comfort and enhanced breathability. GEL technology absorbs impact in key zones, and the OrthoLite X-55 sockliner gives us a step-in feel that’s as premium as the ride itself. Topped off with an 8mm drop and gender-specific 3D Space Construction, this shoe is the go-to for runners who want maximum comfort on any training day.

Not Durable; Otherwise Comfortable Shoe

Lasted less than two months before heel put out. It feels good but quality like that is unacceptable!

My husband's shoes

My husband prefers this particular shoe solely on comfort. In his career he walks roughly 9-10 miles a day. Personally, I think they're over priced. They don't hold up half as long as my Merrills do and I walk 13 miles a day 5 days a week. I guess if you wore them 2-3 miles a day they may last 4 months, possibly 5 if you're gentle. Also very bulky looking. For the price tag, you could definitely do much better. Of course this is just my opinion and you are free to meke your own choices.

Soft but squeaky

These are wonderful, supportive, soft and great shoes, but they squeak loudly on tile and steel stairs. It turns heads in the wrong way when I walk through the room.

Extremely comfortable; even better than the 25

The 27 feels a bit more spacious than the 26 was; more like the 25. As usual, excellent shock absorption and support for higher arches. I think the 27 is my favorite Gel Nimbus yet.

Excellents for my knees, but there's one issue.

These shoes are extremely comfortable and excellent for my knees. They’re surprisingly light—especially considering the thickness of the midsole—and also fairly breathable. However, there’s one issue: I often like to wear my shoes without socks, or with very thin ones, but that’s not possible with these. Right under the tongue, where the lace holder loop ends, there’s a hard edge that rubs against the top of the foot and causes discomfort. It would be great if ASICS could fix this by folding or softening that edge, just like they did with the front section of the tongue.

Disappointed

Too wide at ankles. Not enough stability around ankles. Returning afraid I will roll ankle just walking in them.

Not a fan of the color options for the 27s

I've bought 3 pairs of the 26's but I cant stand the color options for the 27's. I have a pair I wear casually, and one for working out. I just wish there was a neutral black color like the 26s. Hopefully they bring it back for the 28s.

An honest review-marathon runner

Over all solid shoes, 200lb male, used these in my last marathon with no issues. I don’t think I will do that again though. In my opinion these are better for training on your medium to long runs. They’re a bit heavier than other running shoes I’ve worn. The extra padding also generates more heat and hugs your ankles but I don’t think it’s that big of deal if you’re a hobby runner or just aiming for that first marathon finish. These shoes will keep your feet safe and comfortable and allow you to finish strong. Recommended buy for beginners or as a long run trainer shoe. (I would also size up .5 from your standard size as they are very true to fit, youll want a little more room in them) And If you’re not a runner then these shoes are great for being on your feet all day or walking long distances. Pros: comfy, durable, nice energy return for the amount of padding Cons: warmer & heavier than other running shoes
