Gel-Kayano 32 delivers plush cushioning and adaptive support for long-distance comfort
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I keep going back to the Gel-Kayano line for one reason—support that never feels clunky. The 32s are softer than ever underfoot, and the 4D Guidance System adds just the right stability without feeling overbuilt. Great for high-mileage training or recovery days."
We chase comfort and consistency in every stride, and the ASICS Gel-Kayano 32 Running Shoe is built to deliver exactly that. This evolution of ASICS' flagship stability shoe uses their softest underfoot feel yet—thanks to FF BLAST™ PLUS cushioning and an updated PureGEL™ system—to give us a smoother, more responsive ride through every mile.
Engineered for distance runners who demand both comfort and structure, the 4D GUIDANCE SYSTEM™ dynamically adjusts to load and movement, offering stability without rigidity. A breathable mesh upper reduces bulk and overlays, while the OrthoLite™ X-55 sockliner enhances comfort and moisture control. From long training runs to recovery jogs, the Gel-Kayano 32 gives us a balanced, supported stride we can count on.

Here's what customers have to say
The shoe provides good comfort, support, and durability for many users. However, some customers have found the latest version to be less supportive and comfortable compared to previous models, with issues like a smaller toe box, reduced arch support, and problems with the heel design. While generally a solid running shoe, the changes made in this iteration have not been universally well-received, so shoppers should carefully consider their individual needs.

Miss the old version of the gel kayanos
In the past I have purchased several other pairs of ASICS, including the gel kayanos. I purchased these about a month ago to replace an old pair for work. I am a nurse, so I am on my feet for 12+ hours at a time. I initially liked the feel of them when I tried them in the store and they still felt ok as I walked in them around my house, granted walking around my house is quite different than being on my feet for 12 hrs at a time. Unfortunately, the real test was my first 12 hr shift in the shoes, and I could tell a big difference from a previous version of the gel kayanos. My heels hurt when I wear these sneakers, and some days the tops of my feet as well. I’ve tried to be patient and hope there is “breaking-in” period that I need to get to but it’s been about a month now. With the previous version, I could generally get through a 12 hr day pretty easily (some days my legs would feel pretty sore by the time I got home but not too much). With this current version, I’m in pain during my shift which makes moving around pretty difficult. I can still feel the pain in my heels the next day walking around when I’m not wearing them. Now I’m stuck with these sneakers and am back at square one trying to find a good pair of sneakers for work.

Pttd
I have Posterior tibial tendinitis and over pronate. These shoes are so comfortable and are so supportive. I walked 11 miles in them and felt great, no other shoe allows me to do this.

all I will wear
In my opinion the only walking shoe for me. I've only been happy with the gel kayano for years. I've tried competitors but they always end up in the goodwill pile after a couple of wearings

Unisex sizing in larger sizes
I have worn Kayanos for 20 years. This year i had to size up a half size to an 11.5. While the size 11 i have worn before always fit perfectly, when i went to an 11.5 the shoes were suddenly very wide, wider than my husbands Asics in a men's 10. A mens medium width is a D width. A woman's shoe should be a B width. In the larger size they seem to be producing a unisex shoe in a D width. Very disappointed.

Like walking on a cloud
I originally ordered these because I developed plantar fasciitis . I have worn asics for years but my first pair of gel kayano. They have helped my plantar fasciitis immensely. Just wish they were cheaper.

Heal drop change causes pain
I purchased the 32’2 in September and tried to wear them for walking. Unfortunately they are so painful I threw them away. The 30’s fit great out of the box. I believe the change to the heal drop is a problem from my foot. Yes, I have flat feet and issue to my feet but the past versions were great. I didn’t like the higher cuff on the 31 but you eliminated that on the 32. Changing the heal drop will make me look for a different shoe. I LOVED everything about the 30!
