Terrex Skychaser AX5 GTX Hiking Shoes with GORE-TEX protection and trail-tuned support

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I’ve taken these on muddy switchbacks and rocky ridge trails, and they just grip. The heel stability and GORE-TEX membrane keep my feet dry and dialed, no matter the terrain."

When the trail twists through slick mud, steep grades, and surprise storms, we count on the Skychaser AX5 GTX to carry us through. Crafted by Terrex for rugged performance, this low-profile hiker features a ripstop upper wrapped in a breathable yet waterproof GORE-TEX ePE membrane that shields against the elements without sacrificing comfort.

Underfoot, the Continental rubber outsole keeps traction secure across varied terrain, while the Lightmotion midsole and Ortholite molded sockliner deliver cushion and rebound with every stride. The updated lug pattern grips trail surfaces with confidence, and a built-in heel step offers extra control when descending steep slopes. Whether we’re trekking through alpine passes or tackling forested switchbacks, this shoe brings reliable support and all-weather readiness.

Feet pain is gone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started buying these when the ax2 started. My feet hurt so bad from plantar fasciitis for years and I tried every shoe out there . Then I tried the ax2. I have bought 20 plus pairs and yep no pain anymore. I could go on and on. I have two pairs of the ax5 and all way gtx. Work atv riding fishing church yep I have a pair for everything. May need frequent buyer promotions lol

Extremely well made footwear.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I play a lot of Disc Golf. Terrex are the only shoes I’ve found that don’t fall apart within a few months of playing several rounds a weekend. The Gore-Tex saves my feet from getting wet on and off the fairway.

Comfortable good looking hiking shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This new Terrex has a larger toe box than previous versions and is very comfortable on long hikes. You can impact foot width by how tight or loose you lace the shoe. They look good for a hiking shoe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Small for listed size. Had to return for a larger size.

Better quality checks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The size I ordered was a 13 as I have ordered most of my shoes in that size but these actually are a size 12 even though they are marked as 13.

Toebox unusually small.

Toe box is much too small compared with Adidas' previous hiking options like Free Hiker, etc. Returned. If you're not going to make a wide versions, widen the toe box please.

A great waterproof shoe, that is comfortable!

Comfort ! This shoe is a solid in its construction, but not ridged in that it has no bend. The shoe is flexable and I followed other purchasers advice by ordering a half size larger than my regular shoe size. Perfect !
