Terrex Free Hiker 2 GTX Hiking Boot blends trail-tested support with waterproof comfort
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I've logged trail miles in a lot of boots, but the Free Hiker 2 GTX hits that sweet spot of lightweight feel and serious stability. The GORE-TEX keeps me dry in slushy alpine crossings, and the Continental rubber outsole grips just about everything—mud, scree, slick rock, you name it. It’s one of my favorite picks for long days with changing conditions."
We head out with confidence when the Terrex Free Hiker 2 GTX Hiking Boot is laced up and ready to roll. This modern hiking boot from adidas Terrex is made for long miles on rugged terrain, built with the responsive comfort of a BOOST midsole that helps energize every step of the journey. The GORE-TEX membrane offers breathable waterproof protection, while a gusseted tongue keeps out debris on rocky switchbacks and forest floors alike.
The lightweight upper hugs like a trail runner, but a molded toe cap, external heel clip, and EVA stabilization frame ensure the kind of support we need to push into technical terrain. A Continental™ Rubber outsole grips reliably on both dry granite slabs and wet mossy trails, keeping our footing secure from basecamp to summit. Made with at least 20% recycled materials, this shoe supports both the planet and our next big push.

Incredibly comfortable!
These hiking shoes are so comfortable that I wore them on days that we weren't even hiking. But on hikes, they give great support and balance. They are perfect for a day with some hiking and some walking around, because they are just as comfortable as the Ultraboost running shoes (although understandably hotter). Definitely recommended. I never wore them more than 6 miles in a day, but have no doubt that they would be comfortable no matter how far you walked. Also, meets the requirement of very lightweight. Plus they are waterproof. What more could you want?

The Trifrecta: Tough, Waterproof, Comfortable.
I never thought Adidas would create such a perfect hiking shoe, but these are the ones above all my others. They have withstood 10 days in the high Swiss/French Alps, and even more impressive, 2 weeks in rainy, muddy, rocky Norway. I walked through running streams, climbed boulders and waterfalls, and walked down sandy mountainsides. My bunions never screamed, my ankles felt supported, my socks were dry, and I never needed a bandaid. Plus the mud cleaned off beautifully. 11/10.

lightweight but handles the tough stuff well.
Lightweight boots with plenty of cushioning. Definitely good for keeping a spring in my step on long hikes. Goretex lining is good for British weather and they are rugged enough for some tough terrain ( not stiff enough for real mountain walks). I have taken them on long hikes in the Yorkshire dales and lakes and they have done well. They did take a bit of breaking in, that' not a criticism just a warning.

Very stylish
I usually wear Size 8 for Adidas Original (I like my regular sneaker a little loose). But for this hiking shoes, I'm surprised that Size 7 is the best fit for me. I like it a lot!
